Urbis, originally a museum of urban life and culture, became the National Football Museum in 2012 after a renovation. Designed by Ian Simpson Architects and known for its distinctive glass structure, it quickly became an iconic feature of Manchester's skyline. The museum showcases football history, with exhibitions on players, matches, trophies, and the sport's cultural impact. It features interactive displays, a Hall of Fame, and hosts educational programs and events for all ages. Its central location in Cathedral Gardens makes it accessible to visitors and attracts football enthusiasts from around the world.
