This bold and colourful illustration by Stockport born and based artist Lucy burgess, celebrates the amazing range of Football shirts that Stockport County have had some over the years.
Lucy Burgess’ work reflects on her own personal memories of her hometown, she explains ‘I truly believe art should make you think, feel and reminisce - it doesn't have to match the couch as the old saying goes. Much of my work plays on the memories I share with many communities across Stockport; which marked the start of an exciting future for me and my art.’
Burgess has exhibited in Stockport Art Gallery, The Arc Centre, and she had her first solo exhibition in The Room at The Top in 2015. Her work is available in the town's popular tourist attractions: Staircase House, the Hat Works and the Air raid shelters as well as some great independent shops including The Warren.
