This beautiful minimalist drawing by North-West based artist Louise Potter shows the infamous Salford Lads club, made famous by Indie giants 'The Smiths' when it featured on their 3rd studio album 'The Queen is dead' released in 1986.

Salford Lads Club was established in 1903 as a purpose built club for boys. The club has continued to provide this facility for more than 100 years and is now considered to be the ‘finest example of a pre First World War club surviving and operating today’. The club is now open to girls and boys.

Louise Potter, is a Liverpool based artist and illustrator with a passion for buildings, places and form. With a background in architectural interior design, she rediscovered her passion for painting, printing and drawing. She works in traditional watercolour and ink as well as digitally, drawing on an iPad.

She writes of her own work:

‘I love creating memories with simple line drawings of buildings in cities all over the world. Whether it's a famous building, a favourite place, a wedding venue or the house you grew up in, I have the perfect print for you!’
