This bold and colourful graphic print is part of The Modernists 'Estates' range of merchandise. It depicts a plan view of Hulme Crescents, a large housing development situated in the Hulme district of Manchester, England. It was completed in 1972 by architects Wilson and Womersley.

The housing scheme consisted of four south-facing u-shaped blocks, seven storeys high with capacity to house over 13,000 people, but marred by serious construction and design errors, demolition of the Crescents began in 1993, 21 years after it was constructed.

The modernist is a magazine - published quarterly since 2011, a shop both on-line and in real life and a publisher.

"the modernist offers unique perspectives on 20th-century architecture and design. With its pages full of bus stops, B-roads and concrete — you won’t find any swaying fields of wheat here. But don’t be fooled by all the municipal mundanity; warm and endearingly nerdy, this is an unconventional but nonetheless idyllic picture of Britain. In these strange times, there is solace to be found in the quiet fanaticism of this magazine." (Stack Magazines)
