The iconic bright green tiles of the Pevril of the Peak are captured in this watercolour style illustration. Opened in 1830, it is the only detached pub in the whole of Manchester City Center and is a monument to an older Manchester. It stands alone and defiant surrounded by modern buildings in the ongoing regeneration of the city center. It’s buildings like this that make Manchester such a special city and this illustration captures that.
Phil Shelly is our resident photographer and also an illustrator working in the heart of Manchester as Phil Shelly Creative. After studying Illustration at Plymouth University, Phil packed up and headed up north to Manchester to create a variety of pop culture and landscape-based art.
